Multicenter clinical study with ARMin published in The Lancet Neurology

The arm therapy robot ARMin was developed at the SMS Lab in collaboration with the Balgrist University Hospital.

We performed a external pageclinical study in patients with a chronically impaired paretic arm after stroke and could prove that neurorehabilitation therapy including task-oriented training with ARMin can enhance improvement of motor function more effectively than conventional therapy.
Particularly, in patients with severe impairment, the application of robotic therapy was successful and might guide the arm rehabilitation after stroke beyond what is possible with present practice alone.
